2. Introduction to mentoring

Thanks for your interest in building the next generation of marketplace leaders!

They are seven major areas designed to build a duplicable growth model for consistent and effective mentorship.

1. Qualifying: Potential mentors must meet the basic qualifications for mentoring our YPs

2. Onboarding: Once qualified, mentors must go through the process of understanding the expectations and best practices of

mentoring.

3. Training: Mentors must complete the mentorship training modules

4. Mentoring Mentors: Mentors need ongoing connection and accountability with the MDD and team

5. Assigning: Mentors must understand and accept mentoring a YP.

6. Evaluating: Mentors need systems of evaluation and accountability to ensure we are delivering quality mentorship to our YPs

Your first steps as a mentor in qualifying:

QUALIFYING: Potential mentors must meet the basic qualifications for mentoring our YPs

Fruitful in the three essentials and character traits listed below:

A high level of mastery of our three essentials:

1. Business: Accomplished his profession, successful and experienced, Christ-centered

2. Spiritual: Mature in the fruit of the spirit, well developed in spiritual disciplines.

3. Relational: Mature in Marriage and family life (20 years +), Relationship skills (High EI), and seasoned network.

Review the character traits we are looking for in a mentor:

Scar Tissue: has endured painful experiences and has been successful in overcoming them

Love for God: the quality of an infectious love of God

Love for people: the ability to help the mentee learn to love others as God does

Vision: the ability to see the mentee’s potentialFaithfulness - the ability to depend on God

Dependability: availability that causes mentee to see his mentor as trustworthy

Heart of a teacher: the ability to look for teachable moments

Servanthood: the willingness to sacrifice for the mentee’s needs

Durability: a heart that will do what it takes

We'd like to get to know you! This gives us an idea of what your needs are and what you do in the marketplace.

You will need a letter of recommendation submitted. A link will be e-mailed to the individual you identified in your Mentor Application. We would recommend sending the below link to that individual as well.

6. Complete Interview (Set Appt)

We will reach out and ask you to conduct 1 interviews with existing Mentors.

It's important to have both the Application and Bio submitted before the interviews, as this allows our interviewer to understand you and your needs prior to the call.

Any interviews scheduled without an Application and Bio submitted will be canceled.

7. Acceptance Letter

🎉 Welcome to the Team 🎉

We will contact you for completion of the remaining steps and you will receive an acceptance letter (example) welcoming you to the team.

8. Mentor Agreement

As a sign of your commitment to the program and the Young Professional you will be asked to sign a covenant agreement.

10. Meetup Team, Leaders & SAGE

Attend a Young Professional meeting with your new mentee.

11. Get your mentee assignment

You will be connected via e-mail with your mentee

12. First Meeting with Mentee

GUIDELINES FOR YOUR FIRST MEETING 

Complete Monthly Reports to maintain quality of mentor program through feedback loops.

13. Attend Quarterly Huddle Sessions

A speaker will share testimony as part of your team's monthly meeting.

Every member has the opportunity to contact them, we recommend doing so!

SPONSORS ARE NEEDED FOR OUR YP PROGRAM

Become a sponsor for a YP Team

Our program requires that each YP invest 125.00/month in himself. 70% of our YPs can do this, the rest need financial assistance. Would you pray about becoming an individual or corporate sponsor? Learn more about sponsoring a YP.
